A Russian salvage company found this near perfect Hurricane just where the pilot left it in the winter of 1943! The pilot bailed out after his engine froze during a morning patrol on February 12 1943.. When the 89 year old pilot was asked about his feelings on the discovery of his old fighter he commented, "who would have thought the air-brakes where made THAT well..."

"Well, that settles it then. Corporal, I want five more crates of monkeys shipped to Hornchurch within the hour, to begin immediate flight training".
Later...
"Sir, Goering has just ordered his bombers to begin dropping tons of bananas into the channel..Sir, our pilots are dropping like flies!"
Much later...
"We don't need another big wing, not even a small one..what we need, are more monkeys".
Much, much later...
"Sorry Sir, Mr Churchill didn't care to rephrase "human endeavor"..especially after "we shall fight them with monkeys" didn't go over very well on that first speech".
